A Look Inside
The control room, the live room, the build.
Kamloops, British Columbia — every wall, staircase and cable run in this room was built from the ground up.
What started as a converted space became a fully custom-built A-frame studio — reclaimed wood, vaulted ceilings, a hand-built staircase with cable railing, a dedicated control room and a live room built to actually record a band in. Nothing here was bought pre-made. It was framed, wired, treated and finished one weekend at a time.
Over the years this room has hosted full-band live tracking, vocal sessions, mixing and mastering for artists across Western Canada — and doubled as a place where friends showed up with guitars and stayed until 2am.
The studio is on hiatus. Its long-term future is still being worked out, so we are not booking a full calendar, but the room is here and select projects are still coming through it. That is part of why this page exists, to put on record what Paul and his team actually built, without a contractor or a blueprint beyond what was in their heads.
One project is running right now: capturing the space itself. We are taking impulse responses of the room and building them into a reverb plugin, in the same spirit as Ocean Way's studio-capture tools, so this room's sound comes with us wherever the studio goes next.
